The Kuriskova mine is one of the largest uranium mines in Slovakia.[1] The mine is located in Spišská Nová Ves in Spišská Nová Ves District, Košice Region.[1] The mine which is owned by Tournigan Energy has an annual production capacity of over 1.8 million pounds of ore. The mine has reserves amounting to 32.55 million pounds of ore grading 0.3865% uranium thus resulting 56.98 tonnes of uranium.[1] In 2008 the mine produced 1.6 million pounds of uranium ore. The mine also has 3.26 million pounds of molybdenum.[1]
